Engine stutters when it's wet?
Recently my car has been stuttering after it's been raining out. It's kind of hard to explain, but when I drive up to a red light and stop sometimes the engine "blips". It feels like the fuel cuts off for a split second, like when you hit the rev limiter. Occasionally it will do it under acceleration. After driving it for a bit it stops, like it dried out or something. I'm not sure what it could be because like I said it only happens in the rain. Could it be moisture in the distributor? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a 1999 EX coupe with an auto trans, btw.

Could be that, there is a seal that goes in between the cap and the distributor housing. See if its missing or damaged. Also do you have the splash shields installed in your car like under the front end?

Re: Engine stutters when it's wet?
Had a problem on my dodge truck, when it rained water was leaking onto the dizzy, so I put a strip of rubber gasket material over the dizzy and solved the problem. Like the above poster said if you dont got your splash guard on that could be causing a problem also. When your car is dry simulate rain with a garden hose and see where water is getting in.

The plug wires are fairly new, and the splash guard is still intact. (I assume you mean the black plastic shield under the front end) I'll check/seal the distributor and see if that fixes it. Thanks, fellas.
