Default Engine stalls after starting

92 civic, sedan, auto d15b7
starts up awesome, but when the key flicks back—it just shuts off.... but it doesn't do it all the time.... but some days it will start like nothing is wrong sometimes after another try but other times it takes 4 or five tries and i have to hold the key forward and pound the gas....
buuuuuut my bf took the steering column shroud off and looked at the solder connections on the back of the switch to see if any are melted or look over heated/frosty, and all the connections look good.

and today while driving it just shut off. i just moved the key back, sat there for a sec to calm down, and it started up fine...

no corrosion on battery and apparently the ignition is fine?

ps i have a mechanic bf that is stumped too

Might want to change the title of your thread to bring more attention.
