I’ve been having problems with my 98 hatch, a majority of the time when i come to a stop or press on my brakes lightly, I can feel my engine rattling and it would eventually stall, its not my engine mounts, also I my check engine is on with a code of P0170 and P0171, all I got is two guesses, I think it can be my O2 sensor, or my distributor, but not really too sure if that would be the total problem, any feed back i would be greatly appreciated.

how do you know what code numbers they are? who ever gave them to you should have told you the problem.

i can't find what P0170 is, but P0171 means your running lean. maybe it's your O2 sensor? clogged fuel filter? when was the last time you had a tune up?

i dont know, i like just bought this car, but the 02 sensor looks kinda funny, like its too old (just the top one not bottom) imma just go change that out, and i might as well just change the fuel filter.
