which engine should i get for my car?
i own a 98 civic ex and im gonna perform a engine swap but i cant decide which engine is better for me to put in. im trying to decide between a GSR b18c or a prelude h22. the prelude motor has more hp and costs less but there is more potential in the GSR motor. so if u can suggest which motor i should go with i will be very thankful

go with the GSR because the actual H22 is cheaper but the mounts and other stuff make it cost about as much as a C5...so go with the C1....

go with the b18c1. Like they said in the end it will be cheaper. Plus having all that weight in the front with the h22 is gonna **** up your car's handling. A b series swap is so much easier. I would just go with that.

i may be a newbee, but i've read enough, and i'd say the b18c1 i've read it's a better choice in super street, i am also gonna get that engine, i was thinking between the same two, but the answer is definetely a b18c1

In my opinion, I guess it just matters how much money you want to spend. The H22 swap will stil be cheaper then the b18 even with the motor mounts taken into account. Do you plan on going all out or will your mods be minimal? Maybe if your plans don't call for all that much the H22 is more what you're looking for since it makes more power out of the box. I have an H23 VTEC swap that I am performing right now into my EG hatch, and I think it's going to be a good time. Man, if I can tell you anything it's go with what you want. Half the reason I decided to do the H23 VTEC is because it's a rarity in my area, and I'm sick of people all having the same stuff. Good luck bro.

you should ditch those engines. and go with a rb26dett that will give you like 400 hp moderately modfied. naww jk. you should go with a sr20det to hard to find a rb26dett in the us

i would recommend the b18c....and try to locate a lsd tranny...
i think thats a good bang for the buck...if you have the funds just go with a 98 spec jdm itr...

there is a big missconception that the h22 will throw off handling. It really depends on which h22 u get. If you got the funds find the h22a4. Its lighter than the old school h22. someone told me its about 70lbs lighter. Ive heard of people extracting over 750 hp to the wheels with the a4 . I guess it just depends on how BIG u want to go.............................h22a4 do it
