Default Engine Overspeeding!!!! Lend me your ears!!

okay so Im leaving base my engine starting tapping out on the rev limiter with no thorttle. SO I shut it down when I started troubleshooting. I noticed a black plastic peice on the firewall was snapped. So I held it in place and my friend lightly revved it and it was back to normal but I have to replace this peice does anybody know what its called or how much this peice is???

You're talking about the throttle cable hole in the firewall right? just go to a junkyard and get one.

Ya but that cable wants to move back and forth when u step on it so im thinking Vice Grips would work but dont clamp down too hard u just want to hold the outside cable not the cable inside

no the cable goes through a housing which plugs into the firewall this snapped making the cable slack which is making it rev high and not de accelerating....but if i clamp the housing the cable will still be able to move and will hold it at the right angle for no slack....I was also thinking about tightneing the bracket so tight that there is no slack in the calee but I odnt know if this would work or would it idle right I guess ill try the vice grips
