Re: Engine Mounts (davefromPA)
^^^^ They're overpriced, but they do make a good product
|
any cheaper ones? also is there a huge different from stock to performance ones? rougher ride, more noice etc etc.
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Check out Innovative or Avid mounts...little less than Hasports. But Hasports FTW, you wont regret the extra cash spent.
|
well do i have to worry about my engine randomly falling out of the car if i use Avid or Innovative? if they are knowing for breaking very easily then i will use hasports but i don't like the price.

No, how much power are you making? |
the motor is still being built but we're hoping for 350 WHP.
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Any of those 3 will be fine bud. 350whp is my goal too w/ my LS-T EK coupe. GL with your build! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (scbmx87)
what about with a low hp motor?
would filling the mounts with windshield glue work? |
i can't seem to find a price on the avid or innovative mounts. i found the ones i need but there's no price. also if i went and got stock ones would they work? or just upgrade now
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Search around, you'll find them. I would upgrade now.

those the ones i'll need? like i said it's 99 civic SiR a with b16 in it. |
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Should be these...
http://www.innovativemounts.co...10050 Do you have a 2 or 3 post block mount on the drivers side? It should be 2 post... |
Re: (scbmx87)
hasport and innovative. i have innovative but i hear people would go for hasport.
|
Re: (tsgeekz)
i have hasport mounts, i love them. worth every penny, trust me https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
|
Re: (JDM kitty)
Avid, some of the best mounts out.
|
i have no idea if it's 2 or 3 post. and i can't even check cause the car is in the parents garage and i live on other side of the city as them.
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Keep in mind your car will vibrate like hell now, the dash is going to be vibrating like crazy, when at idle and the noise from the chassi is not good in my mind. I put my stock motor mounts back on, and I have no problems and a quiet car inside with boosted power also on a B16A2 motor.
If you buy the Hasport mounts you will love them no regrets, but the vibration is no good at all to me. |
i'd rather not have my car shake like hell. the car is mostly a street car. might take it down track a few times but i'd rather not have everything shake like hell
|

Get Innovatives. My Innovatives feel like stock (and the ricer in me wishes it rattled more). I asked an Innovative rep which mounts I should get for 200whp. -60A 300whp? -60A 400whp? -75A They make some 95As even. They aren't going to break. lol |
either hasport or innovative. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
|
innovative mounts it is!
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
I have a H22 in my EG and they are SOLID BILLET and there is NO vibration at all. I mean NONE
Avid mounts FTMFW!!!! |
any of the mounts mentioned will be good for your motor. they should all be able to handle the power you make. GOOD LUCK with whatever you choose!
|
could anyone tell me what the two rubber mounts are on the bottom of the frame? one on either side of the car. and also do i need to replace those or just get the innovative mounts.
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
Those are your torque mounts, one is on a bracket that's bolt to the transmission and then to the chassi and the other is what bolts to your A/C bracket/motor then to your chassi.
Good luck... |
if i'm upgrading my motor mounts to avid do i still need the torque mounts?
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
yes you still need the torque mounts, and you should change those as well.
|
well i'm gonna have to cause both of them are in about half a dozen pieces on my garage floor...
|
Re: (rustydusty1717)
ha ha ha.....well i guess so....but yes seriously you should change them, and it helps on the motor movement when shifting hard at high rpms...
