Engine Model number and ECU details
Hi folks.
I am in deep trouble. I have a Honda Civic VTI MT 1999. My car's ECU is damaged and I am unable to find a replacement.
I need to know the following:
1. How can I find my engine's model number (like D16Y8 etc)
2. How can I find the ECU (number / model ) that is suitable with my engine.
Problem is that, the burnt ECU was already a replacement with some other car's ECU and I didn't know it at purchasing time.
Please help.

The current ECU is bad. It's not the one Civic's have. Its some altered ECU that is not fit for this car. Ill post the image however in a while.
PS: Thank for the reply Ron.

There is no code. The ECU is not getting recognized by the computer.
The engine is in original form. The one that came originally with the car.

What engine code? You might end up having to locate an ecu locally if we can't even figure out what ecu you had. I'm sure the part # is located somewhere on the casing.
