Default Engine ID J15Z1

I am trying to identify the engine in my 93 civic. It's a new project. I don't believe it's original and has a code stamped on it: J15Z1 I have searched high and low and have not been able to find anything on the web about it. I have pictures of stamp, so unless I'm blind that is what it reads. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Could it possibly be D15Z1? Can you post the picture of the stamp, as well as the engine as whole (especially intake manifold)?

My account is too new to post pictures or I haven't figured it out yet. I suppose it could be a D and not a J, the casting could have been rubbed smooth in a spot. I know it's a 1.5 but is it anything special?

99% what it probably is seeing as the only j15 is in the 08+ Honda FIT's and it would not fit in your 93.

Hit the back button on your browser. Look up at all the posts stuck up at the top in gray. Locate the bottom one. Click it and OH MY GOODNESS!!! It tells you how to post pictures!

Wrong. Wrong wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong. Stop talking if you don't know what you're talking about.

There is no J15. The J series engines are all V6, and range from the J25, to the J37. The only J series with a Z1 in it's code is the J35Z1, used in the Pilot. The Fit motor is an L15, and the USDM version is the L15A1. The L15Z1 is an Indonesian motor.

OP, clean the block stamp with some degreaser and a rag.

I see no pics...kinda pointless coming on here and asking about a swap in a car you just bought and have no idea what it does.

All of this babbling still doesn't explain why you tried to say that a J15 existed.

Is it anything special?!?! It's magical.

The D15Z1 is the VTEC-E (E for Economy). It's gutless, but is capable of amazing fuel economy. Some pictures would help, as well as knowing how many wires you see on the O2 sensor.

I just did tho... I "thought" it said j15 as the Honda fit engine as I remember looking at the specs recently and it listed "j15a"(I misread at the time on Wikipedia). so seeing the title I said that designate is for the Honda fit engine as saw it as "J" not an "L" when I looked the other day.

Once again stop posting **** unless you know for sure it is true, or let someone know if you are unsure. Oo better, since you sold your integra or whatever you drove, stop posting.

OP, clean the engine mark off and take a picture, host it on a 3rd party site.

Closing the thread to stop the insistent bashing of each other over simple mistakes. It happens get over it. It's called being human.

Anyways, OP has the answer, it's a D15Z1 vtec-e motor that the D is worn away enough to look like a J. Sort of like the one the other day you could not see the D at all it was just 15B but we all knew it was the D15B vtec.

If someone makes a mistake, please feel free to correct the misinformation but keep the insults private or to your self.

Pissing all over each other just to **** on each other is asinine!
