engine hesitation?
hey i m postin this for a friend
he just got a 95 civic and i was driven it yesterday and in 1st gear when you get on it it hesitates and feel like its goin to die untill you get to 3k rpms then after 3k its fine.
it sounds like a wrx a little till it gets till 3k it happened in each gear and i have yet to find out what it is it is not throwing any codes but he bought it from a used car dealership and i have a feeling that they might have pulled the bulb from the check engine light
let me know what you guys think because i m completely clueless

I had the same exact problem with my 90 Integra. I never did figure out what the hell was wrong with it.
You'd be at a stoplight, step on the gas and the car would barely get out of its own way. Then, 1.5 seconds later, the car would take off like crazy. It seemed to do it more on damp/rainy days, but it would do it on dry days as well.
It taught me to never pull out into traffic if there wasn't ample room.

hmm sounds like a fuel Issue... Check your feul Filter and replace, check out your Injectors and blow them out using compressed air, this is actually a fairly common problem especially if you dont live in a huge city and get the B graded gasoline... Well Good luck!

Thats what it sounds like to me...
gsr98teg... have your friend check for a code before he clears the ecu. If there is no code reset the ecu (pulling the ecu and back-up fuse) and drive it until it acts up. When it does pull over and check for a code.
I had a very similar problem, my car would actually die.
I would be driving just fine, then suddenly it would bog and die (hard as hell to keep it running), I would reset the ecu and be on my way again..
I pulled the o2 sensor and cleaned it (with a flame ).. and put it back in. It did it two more times and hasn't done it since. I think the lead in the race fuel may have effected it.
Oh and btw I knew it was my o2 because the air/fuel ratio gauge would stop working when the car would act up
