Stick with the stock engine. Throw on some bolt ons, intake, header and exhaust and enjoy the high mpg

Save the most money.

if you do your homework,

check out http://www.turbod16.com http://www.homemadeturbo.com http://www.d-series.org

witht eh right parts and tuning you could see 200WHP for under 1400

plus the nice thing about homemade turbo setups if you want to go cheap u can do a whole kit for around 900-1100 bucks and buy 1 part at a time since your ona budget

im sorry but i/h/e on a stock d series is worthless...just a big waste of money imo.. on a budget id run some nitrous...5 or 6 bills and you have an extra 50 hp when you need it...compared to about 1k for a homemade turbokit...the turbo is worth the extra money if done right...if not done right it will cost you alot more!

do whatever you can afford...if you can afford to swap it...buy whatever swap you can afford and not break the bank.
