I have a 92 civic hb, and I was considering getting the B18C1, but today my friend met this guy that used to be from Ca. and he said that he used to work at an import shop, well to make a long story short he said that he could get me a H22 full swap for $2,500 + shipping. I am considering to turbo whatever motor I get, and I dont know what to expect from the H22, which one should I get??

B18C. Don't bother with the H22

H22's are a lil heavier than B18C's, so handling will be affected somewhat. You may be able to counteract the additional understeer somewhat from the additional weight up front with a large rear sway bar (GC's 25mm is good). Also, H22's fit in pretty tight into EG's and EK's, so you probably won't be able to fit any A/C in there. It's a great, powerful, torquey (well, in honda terms) motor for drag racing. Not necessarily the best choice for circuit racing. It depends on what your goals are. Also, the motor do not sit correctly (slightly off angle) in a civic. I think there are new mount kits that fix this, but I can't remember. As for the price, it seems like a good price, but you should check what year, condition, miles and such it's in and has. HTH.

Well it will also a daily driver, i thought that with the H22 a turbo would be a pain to try to fit in. Also my friend has an 2000 SI and he is thinking of getting the H22, if I get the B18C1, and put a turbo on it will i be able to beat him if he gets the H22 in the SI ?

With the your car being alot lighter you should be able to beat his Si even with the H22.
