Is this engine changed?

today i am looking at one car, 99 Honda Civic EX.

There is no VTEC sign in the cover of the engine. I do not know if the engine has been changed for the car, or not.

Need help. Thanks.

check the vin on the motor and match it to the vin on the fire wall..and the motor will most likely not have a vtec valve cover

96-00 didn't have a vtec symbol on the valve cover. look at the engine code.. should be d16y8 and there should be a vtec solenoid somewhere near the dizzy.
