energy suspension motor mount inserts
which ones should I get for my 98 civic coupe with the stock sohc in there? On the inlinefour website it sais there is a kit for the 92-00 civic and then there is a seperate one that sais 99-00 sohc civic. Does my y8 have the same mounts as the 99-00 civics? Also why do the other ones say 92-00 and then they have a seperate 99-00?

Re: energy suspension motor mount inserts (DOHC4life)
since you have a 98 why not get the ones for your year you dont have a 99 or 00 im pretty sure the torque mounts are the same as the z6. get ready for the rattle.

well i just went ahead and ordered some from summitracing. I only ordered the front 2 mounts for now. Its a xmas present from my girlfriend and i didn't want her spending all that money for the 3 mounts inserts.

Re: energy suspension motor mount inserts (SOHC_MShue)
i just got these inserts installed in my car. the kit came with 3 pairs of inserts...and i thought these 3 pairs were for the "3 main motor mounts" meaning tranny, the rear, and the driver's side mount. i was dissapointed when i found out that the driver's side was really just for the lower part of the driver's side mount.
a lot of shaking now, my car feels like a race car.

those inserts are the ****! Ive been running them for two years now with no fade. when I get around to posting my dyno vids you can watch the engine try to move but those things lock it the f#@% down. I laugh at people that pay 500 bucks for a set of mounts. 150 bucks and some inserts baby.

Could it be a typo that the 99-00 are for Si? Just guessing.
When I ordered my ES rear trailing arm bushing, I was thinking about the engine mount inserts but not exactly sure if I could do it myself. I suppose you have to take out the mount bolt, place the inserts then torque down the bolt and repeat the same process for other 2 mounts right?
So in the sense, when the engine doesn't shake as much, less power are lost at the wheel, right?

It's not all that expensive for the 3-mount insert kit. In the sponsor forums there is a thread where many of us got our kits, the whole set for $36 shipped. You don't need to pick the part number just tell him what your car is he'll get you the right parts.

Re: (SOHC_MShue)
The 99-00 listing for the Civics is referencing the SI's DOHC engines, if it said SOHC it was a typo. Any 92-00 civic that doesn't have the B series engine in it takes the regular mounts. They do work really well, I have them in my car and feel 0 extra vibration but the engine really sits still and it eliminated my wheel hop problems. They are designed to replace the lower 3 TORQUE mounts rather than the specific engine mounts.

Summit has good pricing for domestic performance parts, but they aren't very good on import parts pricing. They're just trying to cash in on the craze.

Re: (Ben_si)
i ordered the set of the front 2 mounts from summit racing. I specifically ordered the civic mounts and they don't look like they will fit at all. In fact they look different than the mounts that come in the 3 mount set. Has anyone tried these?
