emissions on a 2000 civic converted to obd1
i bought a 2000 si and its an out of state car. so in the state of connecticut i have to get a temp pass then go thorugh emissions then have it inspected by DMV. but i dont think it will pass emissions because i have an high compression ls vtec with cams with an obd1 ecu chipped from phearable.net. the car still has both o2 sensors but i was going to take them both out because i have a innovate wideband but its not installed yet so should i wait?. so basically im asking can i use my stock obd2 ecu just for emissions? plus i have obd1 310cc injectors also...
thanks

Your stock OBD2B ecu will look for a knock sensor, crank fluctuation sensor, and a secondary o2 sensor. If you have all those sensors wired up and running, then you should be able to pass the obd2 scan test that they will do.

i have the secondary o2, i dont have the crank flucuation sensor sensor but i did find this http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm which tells you how to trick your computer to think there is one. and i dont hav a knock sensor, so what should i do about that?

That was posted in the FI forum about bypassing the KS. You may want to try that. The bypass for the CKF sensor will work for you, as well.

Being that they are specifically emissions devices, then yes, of course it would affect you! Yes, you need the canister and lines hooked up.

Re: (93egboosted)
That line is supposed to go into a nipple on your intake manifold. If you don't have a nipple, then you may have to split out our brake booster line to install it.

I hope everyone realizes that the knock sensor doesn't work on voltage, it works on frequency. ie if the ECU "hears" the right thing it retards timing.
Voltage would determine how strong the signal is, which may cause problems and it may not. It really depends on what the ECU "hears"
this trick may get rid of the CEL, but it may also retard the timing at random times. The knock sensor is just a microphone in a case, nothing that complicated about it... why not do it right?
