Emblems
I might get flammed for this one but screw it . I have a 2000 Milano Red EX coupe . I hae seen black embems on toyotas and so on .So I painted just the Rear H black(Front one is gone since I chopped the grill ) . Well the paint always chips off the damn emblem no matter how I prep the surface , so I am left to looking for a place that makes black emblems . Does anyone know of a store , online or whatever or a company that has black emblems ? Websites and or phone numbers would be nice .
Thank ya
Thank ya

I'm curous about how you are prepping the surface. Are you lightly sanding and priming before you paint? Are you spraying a clear coat over the finished colour? These steps would be better than just a quick coat of Krylon.

Sorry I don't know any place that makes black emblems.

Re: Emblems (you2envious)
I have seen black colored emblems before. Also, Honda sells a 'black opal' or something like that, colored emblems - I think for Accords. I used a black reflective vinyl. It usually looks bronze. This wasn't exactly what you asked for, sorry.

Re: Emblems (fr0stee tr00per)
i dont think painting the emblems, is ricey, or shud get flamed on just cause u only spent 3 bucks on spray paint and didnt spend it on the 200 bucks to get it shaved.
imo i think it looks good and worth the money.
as long as it aint indiglo joints...haha

Re: Emblems (def jux)
I know it might be considered "rice", but I know they have those "carbon fiber" emblems. Not shiny like the stock ones, and they don't look half bad if that's the look you want to go for.

yeah I've seen the OEM Honda emblems, they look like a dark grey gunmetal...kinda like stock ITR wheels. probly charge you an arm, a leg and who knows what else though.

Re: Emblems (evergruven)
Yeah to answer one question , I am sanding the emblem down ( Praying I don't screw up ) and then coating them with a flat black . At first the emblems look SWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT against the red but then they screw up and peel . As for the reflecive vynil statement , How are you coating the emblems ? I had to do this to my front grill shell (Screwed up chopping the center piece out ) and yes I know go buy the CTR grill . I plan on it . But when I did the vynil wrap on the shell that was a BIOTCH from hell . I will go to Honda tomorrow and see what they say , cant be too bad I just need one for the rear .

Re: Emblems (you2envious)
I went to the website but all I found were the Red H emblems for the CTR ? It was in the JDM section . Is there another part of the site I should look at ?

Re: Emblems (Jaminak)
if you are just sanding the emblem down for now, and not priming it afterwards, that may help in terms of it not peeling. Hey, now that i think about it there is always flat black primers available.....

Re: Emblems (you2envious)
just painted mine also, was looking for black ones. Go manhonda.com and go to accesories in the oem parts section, youll see emblems, they make a black shiny set for the s2000 and the accord, don't know if it will fit the civic. They are 70 bucks.

Re: Emblems (inigo9910)
Yeah... you definately want to primer the sufrace before applying any type of paint. Laquer, especially, won't stick to plastic if there is no primer.
