Em1Hero's wrecked Civic - Repair and Rebuild
Well I picked up my newest project the other day. It's a 2000 Honda Civic Si (em1) with a little over 100k on it. Fully documented and clean inside and out. That is until it was put into a pole on a rotary intersection. Testing out the Skunk2 pro-c's maybe? Well, it was my neighbors car and I had always admired it. He knew I was into Hondas so he pretty much gave it to me for a steal. On one condition. It would not be parted out and it will be restored to it's former glory. I took on the task.
When I towed it home
yay new radiator support arrives the next day
also found a decent bumper and headlights last weekend. The headlights are just to get it going I will put real headlights on when everything is repaired.
Spot weld drill bits and an air chisel make this job pretty simple. You can see the O.Z. wheel got hit pretty hard.
Core support off in no time. Obvious frame damage. This car has a date with a frame machine soon.
Other shots of the car
By the way this all happened within days of me getting the car, so I'm definately hitting the ground running. I'll try and update as I go along. Any comments/advice/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks man
Old core support vs. new
Also came with a binder full of service receipts and some Bride graduation fabric
I'm also building a 92 Da9
This is the full "10 year plan" resto. Full paint job and rewiring the whole car.

The car went off to the body shop today to get the front bulkheads back to OEM spec. After it returns I'll mount the new core support and all the front end jazz. Supposed to be trading some of my Da9 stuff for SIR fogs and a new Si grille tonight ( CL deal). After that I'll do an alignment and replace the radiator, clutch slave cylinder and header ( all of which bit the dust during the accident).

Thanks guys. Got the car back today. I highly recommend Vince's auto works if you need anything done in the Hudson Valley. The owner owns two NSX's and a s2k so I knew this car was in good hands.

Re: Em1Hero's wrecked Civic
So I did a few more things this morning. I reinstalled the side skirts, bolted the fenders back down. With a little pulling/tugging/yanking I managed to get the door seams pretty darn even all the way around. After, I mocked up the front end to see how it will come together. So far I am pleased with the fitment. Maybe I'll work on cutting the bumper later to install the fog light bezels.

You must be new to Honda accessories. Try Password:JDM.
I always wondered what those look like installed. Now I know. Glad I never bought one when I went through my carbon fiber phase.

It's funny to look back on how are tastes have changed isn't it? I don't know, it was almost folded in half when I recieved the car and bounced right back to shape, so I'll keep it on there. On a side note I'm thinking about building a coffee table or something out of the bent O.Z. superleggera, I wouldn't be able to throw it away and It'll be a nice piece for the shop I think. Random thought haha.

Not only is the wheel bent, it is cracked about a quarter of the way around. For safety's sake it will be replaced. The grille is shot, I just set it there for mock up purposes.
