EM1 related: Limitations of stock exhaust........not a fan of loud exhausts.
So on my new (to me) 2000 Si, I want to beef it up a little. But keep it stock sounding so I dont go deaf and **** off the neighbors.
I was thinking of running the stock exhaust with a 4-1 header (bottleneck removed), that coupled with my "in the mail" fake J's intake should give me plenty of oomph.
Any suggestions?
Chris

if you're going to go with headers, might as well open up the exhaust too. otherwise you wont get the full potential out of the header. you'd open up from the header to the cat, but after the cat, it would be restricted from the stock exhaust. i'm running custom 2.25 piping with a magnaflow muffler with a resonator. makes for a deep low tone, doesn't sound ricey and works well for me.
