Default em1 random hesitation under throttle

2000 si, idles and runs fine at 55 mph, but under heavy throttle randomly hesitates above 4k rpm, almost like a very slight bucking. the problem comes and goes but has gotten worse quickly over the past couple of days. i cleaned the contacts in dizzy, and plugs looked good, also its not throwing any codes. does this sound like a fuel pump issue to anyone? the main relay seems fine and the fuel pump primes everytime you turn the key. any input would be great, and lemme know if you need more info. thanks

thanks for the idea, i didnt realize you could till now. from positive to coil spring i got 16 ohms, but across pos and negative terminals i couldn't find any resistance, well, my meter said 0. if thats even possible i guess the coil is bad. is it worth it to replace just the coil given its age, or should i just buy a new distributor? thanks again for the help mcvtec
