EM1 or EK, step inside give me your opinions...
Well, I currently own a 1997 Civic Hatchback DX. Im debating whether or not I should sell it to get me an EM1 Si. Ive always like the coupe's, ever since I had a nice one and got it stolen from me within two weeks of coming out of the body shop. Well I was just debating this because I have a friend whos selling one for cheap. Let me know what you guys think...

Yeah, I had almost exactly the same question before me. I was selling my 96 hatch and wanted an SI or a newer/less riced hatch. After a few months of debating I went with the hatch. Mostly because there are NO fixed up ek's in my town. Plenty of coupes and a few eg hatches here and there. I've lived here all my life and have yet to see a dope Ek hatch. It's a good sized college town too.
Go with the hatch, be original. Unless you live on socal, then nothing is original.

EM1's are garbage in my opinion. They have the exact same features as an EX, except the fabric patern is uglier, and it has a special cluster ... woooooo.
The B16 is a rather gutless motor, and for the money one would pay for a b16 swap, you could make a d-turbo that would walk all over it, or get an LS/B20B swap and some good suspension.
They're painted steal-me blue, and everything about them makes people want to tow them off and chop them into pieces.

Well your signature says "ek9 one step at a time..."
Leading me to believe that you want to keep your ek and make it badass.
I say keep the ek and make it badass, but thats my opinion.

You know something you make alot of sense. This is exactly what I was thinking, I just needed someone else's straight opinion. Thanks for your help.
I already have a B20 motor at my house, and the hatch currently rides on a sick *** one piece suspension...
