Default EM1 Ecu decison time --- HT please help me decide what to do!!!

So heres the deal. I bought a theft recovery EM1 and am planning to use my GS-R powerplant from my 94 Integra. I know that I will have to swap out distributors for a OBD 2 unit, but my real dilema comes with my ecu decision.

My first plan was to use a jumper harness and use my OBD 1 ecu so that I could use chrome. But the more I think about the inspection proccess in NY it may be a better idea to use the EM1 ecu and piggy back it with an apexi unit.

I plan to run RC 270 cc injectors and will be looking for an approx 205-210 all motor hp.

So my questions are:

1. Will an apexi SAFC accomplish my needs with the EM1 OBD 2 ecu?

2. What exactly I will need to convert my obd 1 engine to a obd 2 harness/

3. Will the use of an apexi SAFC affect my inspection?

THANKS

1: Yes a safc will work, good luck getting to 205-210whp if thats all your going to tune it with.
2: You need new distributor, alternator, injector clips, i think thats all. that is if you want plug n play, you can always convert the wiring.

I dont have inspections here, but why not just get it inspected running all stock, than throw in a obd2-obd1 jumper harness and chipped p28 or p72 and get it tuned with chrome.

He said it was a theft recovery so we should assume that the stock motor (B16) is no longer there.

NY inspections on OBD2+ vehicles sucks!! I have never been through the process with an OBD-2 Honda with a swap mostly because......I'm nervous about failing! If you fail then you have 72hr's to fix it otherwise they keep your money and you still have no sticker!!

So make sure to get everything to run OBD-2B without CEL's, get it inspected then do a jumper harness to OBD-1 with your tuning software.

That's exactly what I would do if I were you

That what my original plan was. I have a p72 now and can get the EM1 unit, but what Im afraid of tripping a cel on the oem EM1 ecu because its trying to control the RC's.

This is my first OBD2 test also and I'm pretty worried. So this is the motor set up that im working on:

B18c1:

Head:
RM gen 1 springs and Gen 2 retainers
SuperTech flat faced valves
I want to run S2 stage-3 cams, but can use OEM GSR's for inspection

Block has the JDM ITR pistons, stock rods, and ARP rod bolts.

So my main concern is whether or not I could get it to run and not flip a CEL when I swap out the tuned p72 for the OEM EM1 ecu with stock mapping. It's really looking like it's going to take some work to get this thing to pass inpection!

That doesnt look too bad, if it were a turbo application it would be much harder or more of a pain in the *** as you would have to use a FMU so your ECU would not see boost and throw a cell. All your doing is cranking up the stock application a bit. I dont think you will trip off any Cel's with that.

I hope not. I think it would work as long as I didn't drive it hard with the oem emc in place
