EM1 ebay parts
Anybody have any experience with any of the black housing ebay em1 headlights, em1 foglights, or ebay em1 lips before? I would love some CTR headlights but hey I dont have 800 dollars to blow on headlights and my passenger side headlight mounting tabs are broken so I want to know if there is ANY decent ebay EM1 headlight? Would also love an OEM Si lip but my car didnt come with one and I dont have 200-300 bucks to blow on a lip.

The eBay headlights aren't terrible...but they're kinda crappy. Mine always fog up and the beam pattern isn't quite as nice as stock. I got the eagle eyes CTR replica. Meh. I would recommend that you find some good stock ones. OEM ones.
As far as lips go, there are used OEM lips for sale here and there. There is literally a night and day difference between a replica lip and a real lip. The real deal fits and looks 100X better. Plus it comes painted.
So if you're looking around $300 for a real painted lip...it's not bad....unless your car is not a factory EM1 color and you have to repaint anyway.
A replica lip is like...$85ish shipped? Then figure like $150ish for paint. So you're at about $235ish. Might as well sack up and get the real one. Spend money on something worth while. Don't waste it on something cheap.
The eBay fog lights are usually not made of tempered glass. So if you're going to use them in the winter/rain where they come in very handy...they'll crack from the heat of the bulb contrasting with cold drops of rain/snow. The fitment on mine is pretty decent after I shaved down the tab some. The switch is really cheap looking. The wiring is kinda junky. IDK. My EM1 was just a DD that I was modding on the side. I ended up de-modding it later anyway. The stock stuff worked/looked/felt much nicer. If my EM1 was my only car, I wouldn't have even bothered with fake parts in the first place.

Yeah if I can find an OEM passenger headlight ill just bake mine and paint the housings and polish the lenses. If not I was looking at the Spyder Auto black housing headlights. I have a buddy who got some Spyder headlights for his Z4 and they fit great. As far as the lip my car is actually super sonic blue pearl plus my front bumper is currently black so its gotta be painted anyway. And for the fogs yeah I think i will get OEM fogs they arent too expensive and definitely worth the money. This EM1 is just a DD gas saver I've got an 07 Z4M Coupe, 280z, and S13 SR20

Re: EM1 ebay parts
Generally, aftermarket headlights are garbage. They are sealed poorly and the beam pattern is horrid. I had an aftermarket driver side one and the high beam shot up into the air, off to the side and it leaked all the time. If you can, get used OEM ones (usually $100-$150) and clean them up.
I bought an eBay polyurethane mugen style front lip and the fitment is a tiny bit off (it doesn't reach all the way around to both sides) but bolts and nuts fixed that.

While I'm sure they can break, they sure are durable. They shipped me my lip folded in half. I had to get out a heat gun to straighten it and work out the crease marks.
