em1 driverside window problem!
Anyone who has the infamous EK powerwindow problem and has fixed it lemme know asap! mine is gettin pretty bad.
It goes very slow, sometimes having to go up/down up/down to get it to go up or down! I heard that the problem is the rubber is dried out and is causing friction? Some kinda lube that will fix this or what?

Sometime lubing it doesn't work.
I suggest you take the doorpanels apart and see whats causing it in the inside. You might just have to line up the window on the regulator.

Did this with my friends SI and when we took it apart we noticed that the "teeth" on the window regulator were worn so he had to replace it.
Common problem on the 96-00 civics

My EM1 had that problem, Honda told me it was a problem with the regulators. They sold me some updated regulators and a can of silicone lubricant, which they told me to use monthly. It's been fine since then.

******* awesome!! honda the reliable car that can run 8 hours at redline with water filled crank cases, but u have to take off the godamned door panel every month
not to mention the refukcingtarded clip designs.... my upper area of the door panel has 2 big dents in it, and u can see where its cracked, the cover is really showing it good, ive ******* beat the goddamn **** out of that door panel.

I've taken my car to the honda dealership and they told me that even if they fix it, there's no guarantee on their work, so I'm guessing it's a defect for the 96-00 civics. My 96 hatch w/ manual windows has the same problem and so does my 00 coupe w/ power windows. I always have to take off the door panels to line them back up on those rubber guide thingy's. I've never heard of "lOObing them up". Sounds like a good idea though.

My '99 hatch hasn't had any issue yet with the manual windows. But my buddy with a '97 Civic has that issue, but he has power windows so something to do with the power windows is probably the issue.

I've had this problem on my old 97' hatch and my current 00' SI. Both cars, my drivers side window fell off track and went up crooked...not closing and leaving a gaping hole. What I did was pop off the door panel, unbolt the window and carefully slide it out. Then I noticed the rubber thing that the window slides on wasn't where it was supposed to be, it fell out of position. So I put it back where it's supposed to go and put silicone lube all along both sides of the window rubber track. I then carefully slid the window into place and bolted it back in...tested it and made sure it worked ok. It did then I put the door panel back. Eveything worked fine for my hatch and I haven't had any problems on my SI yet...hopen this helps you out
