Icon2 em1 with b20 block, someone tell me.

ima make this short.dont feel like doing research. might be picking up a 99-00 si coupe.it is stock motor.if i get a b20 block, around how much hp will the car gain to the wheels? with the b20 block in, and the b16 head and all the other parts on it. and please dont be telling me what i should do, ima do what i want and you do what you want to your car so please dont say "you should do this instead".and if you know around what time it might run at the track would be cool too but let me know your opinions and such.

180-190? total guess, that is with a full tune and bolt ons.

be sure to get all arp rod bolts, head studs.

I'd guess 170ish to the wheels depending on the build... but being lazy as he is i'm not gonna seach for him... countless topics discussing this...

stock b20 blocks and stock b16 heads will produce right around 175whp, but when swaping the pistons and full vt you could look at anywher from 225whp to 260whp depending on the cams

what? factory b20b's run mid 14's on street tires and they only have 126hp, hes gonna be running mid 13's almost low 13's on drag radials with that kind of power

I'm going B20Vtec soon so I've been researching around on a couple forums.

Some owners that have dyno'd their setups with basic bolt on got anywhere from 170-179WHP

My friend almost traded for a integra, it was stock b20 block, b16 head, ctr cams bolt ons tune 190@wheels.
Another guy i know have a stock b20 block, arp stuff of corse, built b16 head, buddy club spec 4s itb's and other crap tuned at 230 to wheels.

Either way honda's dont need a lot of hp to make them quick and b16's have no torque so a b20 block should give it just what it needs.

thnx guys, does the block have a more/little whp difference? like say, would a b20z give more whp then a b20b/b20z6 ect..which would you prefer?

The b20z is better than the b20b imo because it comes with 146 hp and 133 tq from factory and with a b16 head like other people said you should be around 175-185.

B16 make 160 HP to the crank. I've seen a stock b16 dyno 128whp

just bc the b20z has more power and torque doesnt mean anything once you slap a vtec head on it, bc all of that will change when you put newer pistons and rods in it

stock b16 is told to be 160hp but on a dyno will be much less. a b20 w/ a vtec head is not going to gain u 20hp. just give u more tq

Dude seriously you dont know what your talking about.. a stock b16 is 160hp to the crank and a b20 block with a vtec head is going to make even more not just torque wise either.. Otherwise people wouldn't be doing b20 vtec builds if all they gain is torque

b20 block has less compression from the factory then the b16 and your gonna make more power because of displacement? the gains will not yield that high as they said maybe 175hp....b20 block isnt ment for high reving either its just like a LS.

if its a dd then just swap the pistons bc they cant handle vtec heads and it can handle it, tons of ppl run b20v motor build without sleeves and rev them at 8k all day long

Have you ever driven or built a b20 vtec motor before? Because it seems like you haven't and all your doing is drawing into your conclusions. Displacement makes power.. It pulls your car. This is why people gut their cars. The motor also creates horsepower. You have a combination of 2 then its going to destroy a b16 regardless of what you say. Almost any large displacement engine will be limited by higher revving. If the block is not meant for higher reving then all you do is build it. Stupid people are the ones always blowing up their motors because stupid is what stupid does..

Your like one of those people who dont know what they are talking about so you go by what others say. For example, the h22 weights 150lbs more than a B series another

heres my old built b20 block for vtec..

To the OP: It depends on what type of b20 block your going to get. Either 97-98 block which is lower compression or a 99-00 block which is higher compression. You can make alot of power with just a stock 99-00 block and a built b16 head. Every setup is different so I'm not going to say how much power your going to make on my butt dyno.

Heres more information if you need:

your an idiot, arp rod bolts and your good, rods/pistons would be better.

As b20/vtec will make 175hp easy!

Ls/vtec that were assemble correctly can run 8k all day long, and then still get your *** home.
