electrical. won't fire solenoid (rad fan turn on) push start works sometimes
need some help, hopefully some knows wiring better then me.
1997 honda delsol b16a2
recently installed HID's unplugged them no change.
hear it is (battery is fine)
(try to start with key, or hot wire straight to solenoid with key in off or acc position) radiator fan turn on, solenoid and starter do nothing.
hot wire to with key in run position. strange sound like fuel rail is getting pressure. twice it made that sound for a couple seconds then, when I hot wired the solenoid it would fire once but starter wouldn't even try.
push starting worked once so parked it on a hill, didn't work next 3 times, pushed car into driveway for the night, turned no an drove the next morning, drove all day parked it in driveway, won't start again.

I didn't think ignition switch could make the starter not work when i hot wired right to it. but i guess it could have something to do with it have trouble push starting.

Sorry, when I wrote that I wasnt thinking starter, was just remembering that my buddy has somewhat same prob but was only the ignition switch. Do you think that the solenoid could be toast?

yeah it could be, just really weird that it make my radiator fan kick on. I'll try a new starter soon but still want to know why push starting only worked once work.

sorry fixed it. figured it must be a relatively fundamental problem. I was guessing that if you hot wired a starter on most vehicles and the radiator fan kicked on it could only be a few things regardless of vehicle.

Make sure the G3 transmission ground and the G101 thermostat housing ground are clean and tight.
