Electrical System Problem.. turn signals/tail lights
this weekend i replaced my left front side marker/turn signal bulb on my 98 civic. immediately after that all lights started going haywire -- and then finally the side markers, tail lights and license plate bulbs went out. they do work though when i hit my turn signals and hazard lights, and also the tail lights light up when i hit the brakes. when i hit the left turn signal, the right side marker bulb flashes also at sidemarker strength (dual filament bulbs) and the stop lights and license plate bulbs flash.
so i checked the fuses and the stoplight/license plate light fuse was broken. i replaced it, and the lights were working fine again but the left turn signal indicator in the control panel stays lit constantly. the left turn signal bulbs just stays on. i then hit the hazard lights, and when i did that it blew out the fuse again and all the lights went back the way they were. i replaced the fuse again, and the left turn signal indicator stays lit again. so then i just blew another fuse. i checked the backup fuses and they look fine.
anybody know what the problem could be??

That's what I was thinking.

Re:
i checked the wires and they seem to be fine. would a loose wire cause the fuse to blow? is there a chance the bulb could be defective or something?
right now my turn signal is just always on. it doesnt flash, just stays lit up and wont flash when i hit the left turn signal.
im sure i'll get pulled over soon. i'm going to check the wires again, its hard to get to them since they are in thewheel well.

NM i figured out the problem! the brand new osram-sylvania bulb i bought was defective! luckily they come in pairs, after checking all the wires and grounds to my city lights, alarm etc. i tried the other bulb and all works fine now. sometimes its the simplest thing thats the problem
