Default Electrical Question: Loosing power to my radio

As the topic states I keep loosing power to my radio and clock on my 93 ex. My clock goes dim and the radio turns off when I turn on the lights. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem? A few weeks ago when I was changing out my climate control I disconnected the radio and I accidentally flew out the fuse that works the radio(its the one that is in the little plastic cover connected on the either end with wire). When the plastic pieces came apart and the fuse hit something metal in my car and it sparked. I just wanted to throw that in just in case that had something to do with it. I appreciate any help.

try checking your backup fuse under the hood, 7.5 amp. if it only does it when the lights are turned on then you mush have a short behind the radio. is the factory plug still on the car or did someone cut it off??

no the previous owner cut it off. Do you know what kind of fuse I need for the back of the radio. Its one of those little glass incased fuses.
