Electrical Problem Del Sol Brake Lights always on

Yeah well my brake lights stay on even when the car is off and the parking
brake is up. Replaced fuse. I have to take the batter cable off to prevent it
from dying for the time being.

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Top your Brake Fluid and the wires that connect to the cylinder :-D

Could even be out of adjustment, Theres two on the sol i believe or is it on the clutch side? eitherway check that. unplug it to see if that fixes the proplem and go from there. Are the lights on there normal brightness or are they dim ?

thank goodness Is earched . . . I have the same exact problem. I ran to the store a few nights ago, came back home, and my cousins neighbor told me my lights were on. I said no ways, so I went out headlights were off, walked to the back of my car and my brake lights were stuck on. I gotta take my battery cable off to to prevent the car from dying . . . what all could cause such a thing to happen?

The lights basically look bright as if you were to step on the brakes at night and they get brighter, well if I hit my brakes now at night nobody can tell if I am slowing down or not since they are stuck at full brightness.

Where exactly is that piece by the brake pedal to check? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

theres a switch behind the actuator arm on the brake pedal. you can adjust it in and out. Thats probably the issue.

oh FYI you can just remove the HORN fuse under the hood to turn off the brake lights untill you fix the problem.

it was the position of the switch in regards to the pedal. It was pushed back
somehow and the button wasn't getting pressed.
I just secured it back in place and it's fine.

thanks for the responses https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Ecskater1313, you need to replace your avatar ASAP.

As for brake problem, it is your brake fluid most likely. Mines turns on when i make a sharp turn or i accelerate fast, but i'm too lazy to fill it up. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

to be specific there is a rubber nub in an eyehole that pushes in the brake light switch
turning it off when the peddle rises into it from the floor. Mine got old and dried out
then fell out. I replaced it with a rounded head bolt and a nut.

works great and wont fall out.

Is saw theres a similar switch on the clutch pedal what does that one trigger?

Its the netural safety switch. you know where you cannot start the car unless the clutch pedal is depressed.
