Electrical issue?

Electrical issue?
Okay so here's a fun one for you guys. I have a 96 civic hatch original manual car. And I bought the car a year ago with a d16y5 motor swapped into it. And the issue is that I put a brand new temp sensor in it and weird it direct to the ecu and still get a check engine for it. And my reverse lights do not work at all. I have swapped the tranny and the reverse switch. But here's the kick I connect a booster and I do not get a check engine. And when the car is off it says no check engine. What can I do to fix this?

Re: Electrical issue?
Is the d16Y5 swapped to include the tranny for it?
Also do you have the right ECU? The D16y7 that noramlly comes in the 96dx is P2E and the D16Y5 is P2N.
Are you getting the right resistance/voltage over that temp sensor?

Re: Electrical issue?
Yes I am getting the right voltage thanks in advance. And as for the ecu I have the actual p2n but im using a step down and using a p28. The tranny is a z6 tranny because the y5 one popped out of second gear.

Re: Electrical issue?
I hate electrical issues because everyhing seems logically that it should work.
As for the reverse lamp as well ??? that's a weird one.
I really don't know much more than that it could be the ECU hates your wiring, or the temp sensor is rated at a different resistance than what the P28 wants.
If it isn't soldered I'd say for ***** and giggles to try using the P2N and see if you get the same problem

Re: Electrical issue?
Did you pull the back up fuse out in the under hood fuse box to reset the ecu?
Try jumping the reverse light switch plug with a piece of wire or paper clip, once jumped the reverse lights should come on. If they don't then either a fuse or bulbs are bad,if those check out to be good then there is a broken wire some where.
Pic of how to jump the reverse light plug.
