Default electrical help please!

I have a 95 DX hatch....here's my problem:
I had an aftermarket headunit that I took out to give to my bro...shortly thereafter my battery died. I replaced my battery and got another cd player. When I try to hook up the new cd player it acts like there is no power going to it. My clock is very dim and will not save the time when you turn the car off; but all my other dash lights and instruments work fine. I have the factory plug wired up to the wiring harness that came with the cd player. Its all color matched and I have hooked stereos up in the past so I don't think I have it wired wrong. I put a meter on the battery to see if I was getting enough voltage from the alternator(14 volts). I also metered the headunit and wiring harness coming from the car and I am getting 12 volts to the headunit. I finally checked the fuse box but no fuses are blown. At this point I am stumped and commuting w/o a radio is starting to suck! Any help you honda techs can give me would be very much appreciated!!!!!thanks again-Jason

There is a fuse under the hood, its a 7.5 I think, that may be your problem. If not check your clock wire, it may be grounding out.

I, too, had this problem before and what it turned out to be in my case is the constant power wire(back up power), which i just wired up to one of the fuses in the fuse box. if you do that make sure its on at all times, even if the car is off, this keeps the clock running and the code from disappearing.

i hope that helps

actually, i dont have any stereo, i just have the mids and highs in my factory location, because i preffer lighter weight but i remember my cd player worked fine when the car was on, but as soon as i turned the car off my clock would reset and when i turned the car back on it would ask for my code everytime, so it sounds almost like your problem, but i'm not sure

I replaced the 7.5 fuse under the hood and removed my fried clock and my stereo started working!!!!!! All I needed was a push in the right direction. You know this board is sometimes frustrating due to whining, trolling, and the term "rice", but when it comes down to it the board is great. I might have spent money taking my car somewhere unless I had gotten the help I needed here; so a great thanks goes out to all that responded......this 's for you!
