electrical helll, please help!
Dear HT,
It has been a solid week, screwing with this, and i just cant figure it out...now i did go to school and study electronics, so this has me stumped.
94 civic cx hatch.
My instrument cluster lights do night light up (so i cant see rpm or speed, or fuel, or water temp at night)
It had been working, until i cut a wire to splice in for my boost guage. Since then the lights havent worked. Now here is the rundown
The fuse block, has power.
The fuse is for tail lights, license plate light, and instrument cluster
Both tail and license lights work, but not cluster
Where i made the cut in the wire, there is power on both sides of the splice
The instrument cluster is getting power to it
The bulbs are getting power in the back of the cluster.
Changed brand new bulbs and they are not lighting up
So....is my cluster screwed? i think no, because power comes to it, and power is distributed to the light sockets. The bulbs are brand new also.
So what in the H3LL am i over looking!?
Please help...btw im in lima ohio, if anyone here has an eg cluster readily available i will come pick it up to see if it works!
Thanks in advance

Re: electrical helll, please help!
This is usually a bad dimmer switch in the dash. Pop the switch out and unplug the connector. In the connector, jump the red to the black wire and the dash lights should now shine at full intensity. If so, replace the switch.
