Default Electrical assistance required.

So Im trying to install a kill switch. But I want to be a bit unique and use my rear defroster button as the kill switch button and run all the wires under my dash. The thing is I have been staring at this Helms manual(the wiring section) and cant figure out why my fuel pump isn't priming when everything is hooked up right.

Black/yellow is power going to the switch and blue/yellow is power when the switch is activated.

So I thought maybe something wasn't working on my fuel pump, hooked the wires together without the switch and the pump primes. I'm 99% sure my switch isn't broken seeing as when I turn it on when the car is running the RPM's dip ever so slightly.

So my question is; does the switch have some weird way of activating with the rear defroster? And if so, DAMMIT!

Thanks
Mike
