Default Electric window clatter/stop at 99.9% closed

97 Civic Ex.

The window moves up and down fine, until its almost up completely closed, but it stops about a 1.5 inch gap before reaching the top.

This is the passenger window.

When it stops its making a loud chatter, not an electrical clicking, but window chatter and won't go up any further.

It looks like its on the track fine, and i can physically the window and pull it into place, but its not easy..

Help. It's been raining all day.

Sounds like a bad window regulator.

mine did the same thing (94 lx sedan) it was the drivers window, the Thieves pushed down the window and pulled the window outward and they got into my car and stole my subs/amp/random rusty CAI i had laying in the back seat out of my parents driveway.

Anyway, if you remove the door panel and the plastic, are you SURE your not missing a tooth at the very beginning of the track? I didnt see it right away. That is why mine wasn't going, it goes up 99% but then i had to pull the window to the top by hand. It was annoying because if i didnt do that, it would Whistle because it wasnt flush >_<

I've got the same problem with my driver's window on my 00 si. I just ordered a new regulator and window channel. Hopefully a new regulator fixes the problem.

I replaced my window regulator and found that 4 teeth on the regulator where chewed down to nothing.
