I'm guessing whoever's EK you saw, the moldings were shaved.

I had that **** done on my old civic from a few years ago. I guess I got it because I really didn't like the stock moldings, I didn't want to buy thin moldings, and there was no way in hell I was gonna shave them. So this was the next best thing. I'm really glad I did it though, I loved how it looked. Plus like I said it was a few years ago so it was still somewhat original. Here' what they looked like (Kinda hard to see):
