If somebody wants to move it that would be fine I guess I could have put it into introduce yourself but I have been a member for a little bit so I figured against it

Boys and girls, this is what we call a unicorn. Someone on this forum, talking about their EK, when they do actually own an EK. Take note - this happens like, once every few years.
That being said...this is a technical forum. Just say you're making it a build thread, and I'd wager the mods will give you some leeway. If you're just posting to show though, then that's what the appearance forum is for.

ok well this is going to turn into a build thread I can't figure out how to change the title of my thread but thats fine people who check it out will get to follow.
here she was as it sat in Japan back in may 2015!
The wait was long and absolutely horrible the car then arrived in june! And first thing was first I started to tear it a parts for cleaning and inspection.
I know that shift **** is horrible I changed it out don't worry!
There was a couple things I wanted to clean up right away. as mentioned the shift **** and the engine bay.

I wasn't a big fan of the engine bay. The valve cover needed repainted and other little things need cleaned up like a weird grounding kit behind the battery. lots of extra ground wires etc.
the whole car was nasty with this black stuff all over it. so I used autoglym super resin polish on the whole car a few times and i still need to do it a few more too but you will see in later up dates.
I started tearing the interior out to check for rust and what not. Just give it a good cleaning
so far so good. I started to undercoat the living crap out of it. I used Rust check (red can for penetration between crevasses) and (green can for a coating). Canadian product and its great i use it on all my vehicles our road salt and salt in the air is horrible where I'm from in Canada.

a bunch of parts I picked up before the car even arrived. Turned out the timing belt was changed not long before I got the car so I will kept this stuff for the next change.
after a quick wipe down.
my seats were laying out in the sun to dry after a good cleaning.took them almost 3 days to dry

Re: Em1 to Ek9 build
Then some "over night parts from japan" showed up. Which i realised when you live in Canada its more like two month parts! And a lot of people will say these are a waste of money I know but I don't mind spending money on a ek9.
Then I figured I would just change everything. So I thought I would give these a try and Im actually very happy with them the fitment was perfect.
then i started stripping the valve cover

re: ek9 type r build
got the valve cover all done I used 2 coats vat high heat primer and 3 coats vat high heat wrinkle red.
as you can see its not honda red but it looked a lot better then the colour that was on it.
Then i started to install my new hoses but i ran into some issues

re: ek9 type r build
The Defi gauges that were in my car were oil temp and coolant temp. The upper hose had a splice connector in it. As you can guess I didn't want to cut a piece out of my new spoon hoses. So I slapped the old on back on. my plan is to take the upper rad house off the head, and there is a good spot to drill and tap to allow for a sensor then that will clean up the bay a lot more. I didn't do it at the time because i didm thane the tools to do it and I was about to drive the car across Canada 5000km (3107mi) so I needed to get it back together.

re: ek9 type r build
So I cleaned the bay up quick the best I could with what I had till I got home. I painted my rad/a/c brackets black. Then changed out a lot of bolts to stainless.

re: ek9 type r build
no ek9 came with red stitched rears. I believe just the integer did. They are the same style material as the fronts tho I really like them.
