b16b head?
I bought a b16 head it is supposed to be a jdm b16a2 sirII. I was cleaning everything up and i noticed on the fuel rail it had ek9 stamped on it. How can i tell if the head is from an ek9 b16b. (It is 100% complete.)If i had a digi camera i would take a pic of the numbers in the front, so if any one has a pic of the dial like code (not sure what they are or are for!) could you post it. if that is the way to find out? pr3-1

1>what year is the head? check the stamps above the exhaust ports, to determine that.
2> is the valve train and cams in there? is the exhaust cam only with 1 single spring? same goes for the intake? or are there dual springs? how the the ends of the cams look like (as in rings no rings this is on the dizzy side)?

Re: b16b head? (eg6ajk)
I cant tell you what year it is by looking at the stamps.(dont know how to read it) I really can't get down in thee to see if the springs are dual or not. The cams have an extra lip or ring that is part of the cam(not removable) on the end of them on the dizzy side.
So ultimately if it can't tell the year it is dual for b16b and single spring for the b16a?
