Default Difference in Civic JDM VS Thai

Well not sure if it is really thai or Asian civic but my friend have 05 civic. Few days back earlier its auto transmission went nuts so had to replace it. My car had D16 but in junkyard transmission available was either D15 or D17 because they are JDM. Now after the installation even if transmission swap was grip to grip the D4 light is blinking.

The guy who swapped says there is difference in models and Thai has 10 Pin shift switch and JDM has 9. They need to swap one or two wires to make it work correctly...........

I dont know the transmission code for error. I cant believe them as it was wire to wire swap..........

Have your saying please are they correct?

if some modification to wiring is required what is that?
