ek start issues
Hi guys,
I have a ek9 B18C GSR swapped since one month now. All was fine till this some hours ago. When I turn the key ignition to on and wait for my walbro fuel pump to activate and start the car, but after 5-7 seconds, I hear a continuous tak-tak sound behind the hand glove box and the car goes off. Then the fuel pump starts activate by itself from time to time when key is on "on". What can be the problem ? Thanks

Yeah the engine starts fine. But after 10 seconds it goes off with the clicking sound.
Just had an electric guy check it and said the relay working fine. The car goes on but as he starts accelerates, it goes off. For him, it may be the fuel pump or filter the cause. I have a walbro fuel pump and he thinks fuel not getting in so sending default message to switch off the engine.
What do you think? Here we can't get mechanic to come over to your place but I think need to tow the car to the mechanic.

Re: ek start issues
Well the mechanic just checked in and here in Mauritius we don't get a good fuel quality.
Now he's saying either the fuel pump has dust particles or the fuel filter. May be this causing the fuel not getting into the engine well and make it goes off. Tomorrow he'll come and clean it and see where it goes.
As some days I did let the fuel goes really down to see how much my consumption is, then did top up the tank full on Friday.
May be dust particles did get in the fuel filter etc. Hope so not a big issue guys. Do you guys have these dust issues in your country?
