EK Spring Rates for a Race Setup

Default EK Spring Rates for a Race Setup

I searched a lot, and this is a pretty specific question so I didn't find any answers I liked, so I'm gonna post and see if anyone with race experience has any advice.

In my '98 Si (Canadian Si, has the D16Y8 in it) I'm running the Omnipower sport coilovers, which have fairly aggressive valving and the spring rates are 10k front 12k rear (they come the other way around but I switched em). I've found this to be a pretty competitve setup, and I like it a lot. However, I'll probably be moving classes soon and competing against a few EG civics and CRXs running similar or stiffer setups. Unfortunately for me, this will make my car very slow in comparison, because it's about 400 or 500 pounds heavier than these cars.

I have a set of Tein RAs that are blown that I'm sending back to Japan to get revalved over the winter, and I'm wondering if anyone can advise me on how stiff I should go with the spring rates. My first though was something around 14k front 18k rear, which I thought would compensate for my car's fat ***, but I think I may even need to go stiffer than that, like 14k 20k, or 16k 22k. Ride comfort obviously isn't an issue, but at what point is it too stiff? One of the guys I race with did some spring rate testing with his car last year and found that if he went too stiff in his car it actually hurt the low speed handling (not sure why).

I've asked this question within my own club but can't get any definite answers as most of the guys race either EG Civics or CRXs, I'm the only person with an EK who races a lot. Anyone have any insight?

(BTW sorry for the super long post, I figured I'd explain why I want such stiff spring rates to avoid anyone calling me crazy for wanting them so high).
