It's my parents car / 98 Civic LX (auto tranny) 63k on the odometer!

Things this car has done the past couple days. This is under normal acceleration / driving as we are talking about my parents here:

1) Car shifts hard through gears. When shifted manually shifts normal.

2) Won't shift sometimes. Again under normal acceleration sometimes the RPM's will just keep rising and not shift say at 3k. They would let off the gas and wait for the RPM's to die down then accelerate again.

3) The gas gauge will sometime go to empty then back to half full (I assume that is the amount of gas in the car).

4) Car stalled and would not start again for several minutes.

That's what my father has written down. I am taking the car into in the morning. Do you guys think it could be a bad sensor?

Check the auto tranny fluid level!!

I checked it and looks like it's at the right level. I drove the car about 5 miles and it seemed fine. Pop's is taking it in tommorrow. We'll see......
