I just bought a set of rear door handles for my hatch and they work half way.

it opens and closes both in and outside when the doors is unlocked.
As soon as I lock it I can no longer unlock it and I have to remove the outer door handle and then it will unlock.

should I totally remove the metal thing used to unlock the car from the outside?
right now it's just connected to the actuall lock and the end that used to be on the old handle key cylinder, is just sitting there.

Come on I know someone has done this before.
I've searched and successfully found a lot of results on google but it just shows the final product

But I haven't found any diy or advice on how to.

I solved the problem.

The actual metal part that connects to the door opener/closer is on the opposite side for the rear handles. On the front handles it points to the front of the car and the rear handles point to the rear. So I just flipped it and voila.

I'll post up pics later even though I doubt anyones interested in this ( judging from how many people provided input on this subject) But it'll help someone
