whats the diference between type r rear lip for hatches and coupes?

is it possible to install ek hatch rear lip on coupe with small modification ?)

I believe the bumper is shorter on the hatches than the coupes. I don't think you could do much with a hatch lip on a coupe.

it might be possible, with A LOT of modification. i dont think it would be worth it though.

No, it's not.

There are three different bumper shapes for the 6th gen Civics (not counting "SiR" bumpers, which are the same dimensions, but just have molding).

There is the '96-'98 coupe and sedan rear bumper.


There is the '99-'00 coupe and sedan rear bumper.


There is the '96-'00 hatch rear bumper.


As you can see, the coupe/sedan rear bumper is significantly longer along the sides. Since the rear lip would wrap around the bottom of the sides too, the hatch rear lip WILL NOT fit onto a coupe or sedan rear bumper.

Also, while there is a Civic Type-R hatch, there was never a Civic Type-R coupe or sedan, meaning that any rear lip that says it's a Civic Type-R rear lip that will fit your sedan, is just a Type R Style rear lip and these might slightly differ from each aftermarket retailer.
