yes but you gotta change out the heater core to 99-00 as well since the newer is all electronic

The '96-'98 climate control (and therefore the bezel) is different than the '99-'00 climate control (and bezel).

If you just need to replace a broken or missing bezel, keep the correct year span bezel in there. It's a lot of work if you want the other.

If you really prefer the other look, then you're in for a job.

question on the swap... what about a 01-05 bezel in a 99 civic ex im new to the civic family and have a slauhtered dash im tring to clean up

yes it does if you want it fully function you need a 99-00 heater core assembly
