Default EK hatch: How do you remove the carpet??

Sup all.

My carpet is dirty and has a funky smell, the previous owner never had floor mats. Last night it rained and I left my windows open so I know its gonna smell worse.

I can remove the seats and center console no problem but any tips on removing the side trim pieces that also hold the carpet down???

its pretty easy it just takes some time to find all the screws before you break something.
under the rear seat there are those little black punch clips( i call em christmas trees) and make sure to not mess up the old one cause you'll need it for a template when putting your new carpet in...good luck

Unless you're getting a fancy color, like CTR red, it's best to get one from a junkyard. A pull-a-part should be your best bet.

Using dye for a carpet will make it hard, and no longer soft to the touch.

$150 for a brand new carpet, in a color of your choice is a pretty good deal. When you think about the cost of dyes, and adding the hours you are putting in...it's not worth it.

exactly what i was talking about 150 is a small price to pay for a brand new molded factory replacement carpet the fitment is great minded you know what your doing and dont butcher it with your blade

the rear interior panel are easy to remove are you driving a hatch?

and as far as junk yard carpets and using dye on the carpet you will never have as clean as a product as brand new and keep that in mind.

I finished cleaning the carpet, floor mats, front seats, rear seat bench and interior. It was a long process but I hope the end is worth it.

The carpet was much dirtier than I though it would be. I knew it was disgusting, but it was worse. I sprayed it down with degreaser and carpet cleaner and with light scrubbing it turned brown. I finished scrubbing the whole carpet down and it took me about 30 minutes of constant hosing to get the water to come out clear. All the water draining from the carpet was brown. It still has stains but I believe those are permanent.
I took the time to clean the seats since those were out but I figured they didnt need much. I couldnt be more wrong. I did the same process and immediately brown water started coming out. The seats look much better now and im going to leave everything drying over night.

Ill post some pics tomorrow of the carpet laid out and then installed.

The floor mats after the shampoo. I may clean them once more but im not sure. Were having a drought here in Texas and I get a lot of dust and dirt in my car from not having grass so they get dirty really fast.

Thanks man, yeah that EF is my brothers. Hes currently selling it.

And yes they are Prelude seats. In order to get them to fit EK you gotta swap inner EK rails onto Prelude seats.

Anyways im done with this. My car smells soo much better and I recommend you guys do this as well, only real way to clean the carpet.

First pics is before floor mats, second set is after.

Prelude seats are ugly in a Civic. They looked just fine in my Prelude.

I agree theyre not the best looking seats but they are so comfy. And they hug you pretty well for being OEM seats.

Thanks on the interior comments. :D
