Ek hatch/b20b swap - CEL codes, idle problem, and misfires
ok so picked up an Ek hatch with a b20b swap seems to run good minus a few things. noticed the car is running and obd0 TB and its converted to obd1. and got a code for tps, and coolant temp. also i just replaced the coolant temp sensor
1. okay so 1st thing in the morning itll start and idle rough 2-300 rpm and die unless throttle is added, sometime the car is fine tho. then when its driven a bit its fine. when it stalls i go to start it and i get nothing but a click, but when its warm starts no problem.
2. driving all fine hit and bump and itll sputter or missfire for a second then back to normal. i check the cap and rotor and they need to be repalced, i just did plugs today im assuming the missing is coming from the worn cap/rotor.
so im assuming to take car of the tps problem id have to get a proper obd1 TB and re calibrate the tps, and put the map sensor onthe TB where it belongs?

if you replaced the temp sender for the ECU code did you do the correct one as there are 2
the sender with 1 wire is just for the dash Temp gauge will not throw codes
the sender with 2 wires is just for the ECU also the cause of code fault ECT
a problem with the ECT can and will cause the problems you have described
re hitting a bump causing problems
try having the engine run and wiggle n push around your wiring loom at diffrent points in the bay you might find a loose connection or plug that is loose or fowled

could the random miss over bumps come from a loose ground?

its could be a loose ground
or it could be a loose connection or corroded
or a short through wires haveing rubbed together or shorting

Have you checked what the voltage is on your current TPS?

Same thing happened with my B20B swap, I tried everything I could to fix it until I broke down and did a leakdown test. I had massive bent intake valves. Changed the head and havent had a problem since
