Default Ek with gsr blue smoke high rpms

I just dropped in a gsr into my ek, 2 weeks ago the thing is in high rpm it smokes a light blue then it gets darker. i been researching and have been getting different answers some saying it's cause of vtec the motor eats oil and it could be rings or valve seals. does anyone have ideas if it's anything more serious than what i listed. i do have black soot on my rear bumper and i had check engine light for running too rich. all help advance with a thanks.

Ok here is a decent guideline for your question.
1) vtec motors are known for using about 1/4 to 1/2qt of oil every 3-4k miles.
2) vtec motors (any motor for that matter) that are healthy DO NOT consistently smoke at upper rpm's.
3)Blue smoke is oil burning in the combustion chamber, the culprit for those symptoms are typically bad rings or valve seals. Those are not the only 2 scenarios however.

Some more questions for you so we can help you a bit more....
1)When you are off the throttle decelerating, using compression to slow down the car, does it smoke? If yes its 99.9% probably the compression rings.
2)How much oil are you adding and at what increments?
3)Is there a mixture or black smoke, or any signs of black smoke at all?

Blue smoke = oil
Black smoke = fuel

Maybe you have a mix of both.

Blue smoke - Compression test the cylinders before and after addition of a tablespoon of engine oil to the cylinders.

Black smoke - What was the CEL code(s)?

no cell. it was more of a light blue mixture. i haven't added oil to it since i did an oil change two weeks ago. my gas mileage is at about 270 and i am close to E. I have a check engine that pop up while i was driving today.

Codes:
P0147-Evap system or loose gas cap.
P171- system too lean/rich

any suggestions if these are part of the problem or another problem on it's own?

No healthy engine burns oil or loses oil. If a motor needs oil added to it every 3-4k miles it is not a healthy engine. Smoke coming out of any motor regardless if it is consistent or not means there is a problem.

Just because people in the Honda community buy engine swaps in "good" condition and then the engine smokes in VTEC does not mean a "good" engine smokes in VTEC.

I completely disagree with you. I have personally rebuilt motors with no leaks, no smoke and they still use a bit of oil. There will be a nutural consumption and blowby into the intake then burnt out the exhaust.

My car does consume oil but it doesn't kill a quart or two. it does smoke at high rpm but that's only when it reaches 6500+. I won't be running it that high anymore cause it kills my gas either way.
