yeah you could do it but it would take a long while. He wants to make a hatch on a ek like the one on the eg.
Basically you would have to alter your rear bumper also for the bottom half to come down. You would remove the lock system as it is. Do around a 30 degree angle cut around 2 in. from the bottom of the glass straight across. Then relocate the locks back on. Weld some flat pieces across where you cut. Weld a couple of henge's(sp) on the bottom of the door after you would flatten it out. It would be a hell of a job to make custom seals to keep water out.
I recommend taken it to a body shop that does hot rod's as they would have experience enough to do this type of work. I'd say if you didnt do it your self your lookin at 1k or more including repainting etc. Doin it yourself if you had a grinder, welding equipment it would be a whole lot damn cheaper. Around maybe 50 to 100 bucks in stuff. Hours though i'd say it could be done in bout 2 days at a shop.

Re: EK gate (Rowdy)
the prob with that would be that the glass on ek goes to the bottom of wing. And the hatch is an anctual 2 peice, you would have to make this a 2 peice for it to work. opening just the glass would interfeare with the wing..
