Default ek, ej,...wtf

what is the designator for a 99 Si?

Is there a place to learn all acronyms?

Total noob, just trying to figure out what I have. So, I can read the appropriate posts.

Vehicle Identification Number number...

How redundant.

Sorry, I just see this over and over again from lots of people and it gets me everytime.

Fourth, fifth and sixth digits of your VIN will say EM1 if it's a real USDM Si or Canadian SiR.

There are other countries that have EM1s too. They're all coupes and all have the B16A. Some of the other countries call them VTis or VTi-Rs. All VTis are NOT EM1s though. There are VTi hatches and sedans that you're more likely to find online than the VTi coupes.

I know a lot of people say the US missed out on "all the good Civics" but that's really not true. Most other countries had a lot of commuter Civics with lower displacement (you can find D13s, D14s and D15s in some). The Civics with 4WD were all D-series too and weren't any sort of sport 4WD. They were only about 70/30 or so anyway, so don't think of then as being comparable to WRXes and the like.

The US ended up with similar trims as the rest of the world, only our DOHC VTEC came in a coupe instead of a hatch or sedan. As for the Type R, that was Japanese only anyway.

It's not so much that they're noobs to the site... it's more of the people who answer questions when they don't know the answer.

It's just worse when they post the wrong answer because they only read the first post, only to see that the right answer was posted before.
