EK (EJ) suspension advice....
Hello all,
I have a 97 Civic DX Hatch, currently with Stock type strut/shocks, and generic coilovers (like that when I bought it)... I am looking to replace my suspension.
I am buying 16" Wheels (Flik or maybe 5zigen/black racing Pro N1's) and wrapping them with 205/45/16" treads...
I want to go with the right amount of drop for the size tire I'm using and I was thinking of going with Tokico Illumina or Koni Yellows for my dampers, but am questioning what type of spring system I should go with... someone suggested Tein S-Tech springs, others suggest just getting Ground Control coilovers or something along those lines. What do you suggest. I have also been looking at Tein Type-Basic coilovers... someone help me out.
I want good ride, but I also want much improved handling. I also plan on backing the suspension upgrades with a Skunk2 front strut tower bar, and suspension techniques antisway bar kit. I dont roadrace, so I don't need Zeal/Endless stuff or anything

If youre gonna go for a do it yourself type coilover suspension, then go for the koni's definately. I'm runnin around on skunk2 coilovers and illumina's and I wish I had waited for the Koni's.
The Tein basic kit isnt that bad, but you have no shock adjustability like as you would a koni or illumina. I pieced together mine for about....what was it...less than 600 I know that just not exactly, and I wish I had waited and gotten the Tein SS coilovers.
It's all just a matter of what you want to do really. If you dont plan on doing like auto-x or road race then u dont really need an adjustable shock, but one does like the convenience of having it.
