Re: (97ShLude)
Yep, it's completely stock. What do you guys think about the 60 ft time?
Would a new flywheel mess up my top end power? I thought it was supposed to help throughout the power band. I was reading on http://www.theoldone.com that his motor was doing really well on the takeoff but it assed out on the top end. I currently have the cx fuel pump. I plan on changing:
The way I launch (leave on the last yellow is what someone told me)
Fuel pump to ITR (free)
New NGK Iridum plugs (25 bucks or so??)
New Plug wires
Ditch all unneeded interior pieces
Help me out... What else shoud I change that'll help me get the most out of this motor without spending my rent money? Should I try it out with the stock flywheel?
I have no A/C or P/S

Re: (DeeBo)
flywheel should help you all throughout the power band. what are you plans...obviously drag racing, now all motor or turbo?..if turbo then stay stock with the head, and get sum pistons/rods. lower the compression a bit. allmotor then go with some agressive cams, and make sure you get the corrisponding valvetrain. ctr pistons, and yer pretty much set after tuning and proper fuel management. hope this helps.

Re: (Slow_Em1)
Actually the ultimate goal is to go road racing. The Nurburg ring and Hochenheim ring are the spots I'll be at. All motor is what I'm going for. I wanted to go with some toda B cams, toda valvetrain, custom (4-1) header, ported skunk2 intake mani, chipped ecu (maybe soppn?), aem intake, clutchmasters clutch, aem fuel rail, some RC injectors (clueless on what size, maybe 310?) and a few more things that i can't think of right now. I'm going to have to see wassup with those ctr pistons though...

Re: EK/EJ-B18C5 Timeslip...Let's compare (DeeBo)
This is my '96 Civic EX coupe(pretty hefty), with a stock B18C-R(JDM).
Bowling Green, KY----545 ft. elevation
R/T---.641
60ft.--2.301
330---6.142
1/8---9.358
MPH--72.54
1000--12.159
1/4---14.543
MPH--94.30
I'm pretty happy seeing as the motor is stock and I have a full interior...but I really need to get some better motor mounts and some drag radials...(I was running on the shitty stock mounts and on brand new Yokohama AVS ES 100's.)
--Not to mention it was 91F degrees outside
and the relative humidity was 100%

Your 60 ft. could be a little bit better.
Keep in mind, what tires are you running and what are you launching at? There's a good drag topic by activeaero (sp?) over in the ITR forums. Do a search over there as he's been able to run a 14.2 in a stock ITR .
As crappy as it sounds, the hardest part to getting a good time is getting a decent launch and hooking up(which is fairly challenging in a fwd.) Suspension plays a part in this of course.
When I had an ITR, I couldn't break 15.1. Perfectly stock, tires were Yokohama AVS-ES100's, could have been better. However my trap speed was about 95 mph. Your trap speed looks a little low to me, should be going a little quicker then that I'd think.
I'm dying to get my hatch on the road with this swap, By the end of the summer I should have some sort of times if I ever finish it.

Where are people gonna learn that your RT has NOTHING to do with your 1/4 time. You can sit there for 30 seconds if you want and you're still gonna run a 14.8. The time doesnt start until you trip the beam in front of the staging lanes.
And you're times are SLOW. I have a 93 cx hatch with a somewhat high mileage B18c1 in it and I'm cutting 15.1's but with 2.47 60's(yeah, i know horrible. Kinda didnt realize my azenis were bald). By cutting that 60' down to a 2.1 it should drop ~.6 seconds off my 1/4 putting me at a 14.5. Does your car feel like it's losing power up top? Oh yeah, and in contrast there is a guy around here with a type R swapped EK and he ran a 14.48 with a 2.4 60'. So he's in the 13's easily.

It is all about your launch. That first 60 feet is crucial. My personal best is a 2.21 that put me in the trap in 9.5 sec at 77 mph. in the 1/8. That was in a 99 Si (2700lbs baby) with minor bolt ons.

Re: EM1
Replaced the spark plugs. Gas mileage is much better. Had quite a bit of carbon buildup on them as well. Do the platinum or iridum plugs make any difference in power or reliability? I don't think so but I figured I'd ask.
I tried to put it on the dyno yesterday, my car was too low. I got some H&R Race springs on some 15's. They told me to come back on the snow/winter tires. Hopefully I'll get the info I'm looking for soon. Thanks for the 1/4 mile post.
Did my car really run a 14.3 in the 1/4 but my reaction time was so shitty that the 1/4E.T. was 14.8?

Re: EM1 (DeeBo)
time seems pretty high. my friend is hitting constant 14.1 with his itr swap in his eg hatch. he has a 4-1 header,2.5" piping, and a magnaflow muffler. also a cai.

Re: EM1 (hondaeg8)
I've been reading a little bit and I've found that the b18c6 has 190 hp compared to the 197 hp of the b18c5. It's due to the header and the exhaust I think that if you factor in that the motor stock motor as well... Or maybe my motor just sucks... The better gas mileage that I'm getting may indicate an increase in HP as well. (I hope)
edit* does your boy run slicks?
do you guys shift right before the redline, or right before the fuel cut?
