Default ek to eg?

its as the title says,

i have a 97 ek7, stripped gutted, has dash with no heater core or ac evaporator, plans for it was for auto-x, motor d16 with custom forward facing lovefab turbo mani. t3/t4 turbo on 14 pounds or so.

problem i have is i would to be able to have it street legal to drive it to the local auto-x event problem is like all turboed eks, is once u tune with p28, passing emissions is a pain, where i live u have to pass emissions once every 2 yrs or so. i have till march to get the car going. (not to much turbo lines, misc and tuning program and what not.) but thats for turbo not street legal. to get it street legal i would have to swap in a whole new motor. the one im putting in is a 92-95 series motor. not a 96-00. so its missing a crap ton of sensors. so to pass emissions id need to swap in a new motor just to pass emissions,

now i was wondering what others would do. im debating on trying to find someone with a stripped eg shell to trade for my ek shell. so that way i dont have to worry about emission crap. would u guys trade a good ek7 for a eg for emission conveniences?

t3/t4 cheap knockoff crap...

No just don't rip crap out unless u live in "nazifornia" you'll be fine so long as keep the stuff intact there really is no gain to removing it.

i mean seriously. i had planned to tow it to race days but thats out of my budget atm.
might i add that this had the zc block mated to the y7 head so it was already missing most of the sensors id need to plug in a obd2 ecu for emissions.

if you can get an eg hatch shell for 400$ go for it ! for the sensors just go to a junkyard and pick a hand-full up for 5$. then splice them in and you're set you'll need an obd2 to obd1 jumper but when emissions comes around just grab your stock p2t or p2p what ever the y7 runs..
